Il 4 Febbraio alle ore 12 a.m. la galleria Doppelgaenger è lieta di presentare la mostra di Pino Pipoli, dal titolo Capsule, negli spazi del Tender, in via Bozzi 73.
L’artista ha scelto gli spazi del Tender to Doppelgaenger per mettere in scena la sua personale capsula del tempo, distillato di un subisso di scatole rimaste chiuse negli anni.
“L’aspetto più rassicurante della gentilezza epistolare, come di ogni rito, è la ripetizione. Niente ci angoscia come il mutamento. Esile passerella tra i due mondi è la variazione: mutamento apparente, che elude la ripetizione, ma per ribadire la continuità” . Giuseppe Pontiggia
Pino Pipoli è un artista dalla formazione e dall’attività multiforme, un latitante interprete della realtà, che assimilando e adottando differenti strumenti di ricerca, non si occupa soltanto di osservare la contemporaneità, ma di stimolarne una più attenta, a volte allarmante conoscenza. Nelle sue opere sviluppa una espressività che si snoda attraverso azioni, visioni scenografiche e sonore, e complesse immaginazioni (Achille Bonito Oliva). Pittura, installazione, video, suono, performance si fondono in ambienti intimi, dove contesti e vita collettiva vengono spiati ed esplorati con un impalpabile equilibrio tra ironia e visioni drammatiche. Nato a Molfetta e cresciuto a Bari, si trasferisce in Germania alla fine degli anni ‘80’, dove presenta il suo lavoro in gallerie, musei e rassegne internazionali di videoarte. Tornato in Italia nel 2002, attualmente vive a Milano e a Livorno.

On 4 February at 12 a.m. Doppelgaenger art gallery will be pleased to present Pino Pipoli’s exhibition, entitled Capsule, in the spaces of our Tender, via Bozzi 73. The artist has chosen the spaces of Tender to Doppelgaenger in order to set-up his personal time capsule, a distillation coming from a pile of boxes closed for years.

Pino Pipoli is an artist with a complex background and knowledge. A fugitive interpreter of reality, who has assimilated and adopted different research tools over the years, he doesn’t simply concern himself with observing the contemporary scene, but also stimulates a more aware and sometimes alarming knowledge of the problems associated with it. Throughout his work he develops an expression in continuous evolution which laces through scenographic and sonorous visions or pure imagination. (Achille Bonito Oliva). Painting, installation, sound, video and performance blend together in intimate settings, where background and collective life are glimpsed and explored with an impalpable equilibrium between irony and dramatic visions.
Born in Molfetta and growing up in Bari, he moved to Germany at the end of the 1980s , where his work is on show in several galleries, museums and international video art exhibitions. Having moved back to Italy in 2002, he currently lives and works in Milan and Leghorn.
